Bad money drives out good

* Background Information 
Jeju Island, the island of South Korea, is considered one of the best vacation spots from not only Korea but also all around the world. 
Especially, as the living standards of the Chinese rose, many Chinese visited the beautiful island of Jeju. Also there was a boom to move to the island when celebrities 
and other famous people were reported to move to there. As demand increased, investors and speculators began to flock and develop reckless development. 
Currently, Jeju Island is releasing unfiltered wastewater with human excrement into the ocean because of the overflow of tourists. 
Due to speculation, land prices are increasing highest every year in the nation. The work was carried out according to the theme of Jeju Biennale 2017 "Tourism".

* Artist Statement
I criticize the capital flows and their process, the present state of tourism in Jeju Island, the reckless development with immigration, and speculation that occurred 
as of 2017. I focused on the act of shoveling dirt to speak about such concerns. I switched to another role to continue the performance of circulating dirt. 
The site was preserved to be presented as an installation piece.
